BIOGRAPHY
Isela Vega Durazo is a Mexican actress, writer, producer and director, born on November 5, 1939, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. She grew up in Cuauti, Sonora, where, at age 18, she was selected to be the Carnival Princess of Hermosillo, opening the doors for her to start in the world of modeling, taking her to the United States to study English and acting. For a few years, she dedicated herself to singing boleros in bars in Mexico City, until she was invited to be part of the Max Factor Hollywood modeling program. She soon made her film debut with the film Violent Summer (1960), alongside Pedro Armendáriz and Guillermo Murray. That same year she made her theater debut with the comedy A Widow and Her Millions . Between the decades of the 60s and 70s, Isela became a Mexican sex symbol, with participation in films such as SOS Conspiracy Bikini (1967), Las sicodélicas (1968), Desire arrives at night (1969), Prohibido (1970) , The Wolf’s Feast (1972), India (1976), Act of Possession (1977), Midnight Dolls (1979), among several others. With a filmography of more than 120 titles, between film and television, Isela Vega is one of Mexico’s legendary actresses, with an outstanding career that includes participation in soap operas such as Gente bien (1997), Terminales (2008) , Niña de mi corazón (2010 and films such as Herod’s Law (1999), Pink Fists (2004), Out of Heaven (2006), Arráncame la vida (2008), Hell (2010), The Hours with You (2015), El Jeremías (2015 ), But the Devil Knows by Old (2018), If I Were You (2018), Lost in Mexico (2018), Cindy la Regia (2019), among several others. Isela Vega passed away on March 9, 2021.
