BIOGRAPHY
Björn Hlynur Haraldsson is an Icelandic actor and director, graduating from the Icelandic Academy of Arts in 2001. He co-founded the innovative theater company Vesturport the same year. His first role was as Guðjón in Reykjavik Guesthouse: Rent a Bike (2002) before landing a lead role opposite Daniel Brühl in Kóngavegur (2010). After playing the lead role as police detective Helgi Marvin in the miniseries Hamarinn in 2009, and playing the role of Gian Paolo Baglioni in the series The Borgias in 2013, he gained further fame after his role as Trausti Einarsson in the murder mystery series Trapped (2015). But it was his portrayal as Eric Odegard in the psychological thriller series Fortitude (2015) that has seen his popularity reach new heights. It was announced that he would play the role of Eist in Netflix’s take on The Witcher , a series starring Henry Cavil.
