Biography of Jim Norton
James Joseph ‘Jim’ Norton, born on 19 July 1968 in Bayonne, New Jersey USA, is a comedian and author. His career in comedy began in the early ’90s, and he has made appearances in several popular shows. Jim Norton is also the author of two books, the first of which reached number seven on the bestseller list, and his second one reached number 13. These literary achievements significantly contributed to Jim Norton’s total net worth.
Jim Norton’s net worth is estimated to be $5 million, which he has accumulated from his extensive career as a stand-up comedian, actor, radio host and television personality, as well as a writer.
Jim Norton’s Net Worth is $5 Million
Jim Norton’s teenage years were in stark contrast to his career as a comedian. Norton’s father worked at the post and at some point for the military, while his mother was a librarian. Jim dropped out of high school and attempted suicide, which failed. At the age of 17, after spending some time at a rehab center, he returned to school.
Jim Norton started his career as a stand-up comedian in 1990 but gained fame in 2000 through his new job on the radio. It was a program called “The Opie and Anthony Show” on Satellite Radio Provider SiriusXM, on which Jim Norton worked as one of the regular hosts. Soon after he began working there, Norton got involved in a scandal and was even arrested over an incident when the show was broadcast in a bus driving through Manhattan, and full of half-naked women. Several other scandals involving the aforementioned show and Jim Norton followed during the decade, but his net worth continued to rise.
Jim Norton has also made appearances on television shows, greatly contributing to his net worth. From 2002 to 2004, Norton was seen on Comedy Central’s show called “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn“. Jim has also appeared as himself on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, “The Late Show with David Letterman“, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno“, and “The Gong Show with Dave Attell” where he appeared as one of the judges. In 2005, Norton was featured in the first of the HBO stand-up special series called “One Night Stand”, and the second which came out in 2007 also included Jim. In 2006, he showcased his acting skills in the TV series “Lucky Louie”. Furthermore, Jim Norton has made several cameo appearances as himself in “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”, “Spider-Man” and others.
Jim also ventured into writing and has published two successful books. His first book called “Happy Endings: The Tales of a Meaty-Breasted Zilch” was released in 2007 and was in the top five of the New York Times Best Seller list in its category. On the day of its release, the book also entered Amazon’s top 10. Jim Norton’s second book named “I Hate Your Guts” enjoyed similar success.
In his personal life, Jim Norton has never married, but continuously jokes about the amount of money he (supposedly) spends on prostitutes.
