Is Crossplay Available in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt?

Is Crossplay Supported in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt?

Indeed, crossplay is supported between players on PlayStation 5 and PC in Bloodhunt. However, there is a restriction when it comes to forming squads. While players from both platforms can participate in the same matches, the pre-game lobbies, known as Elysium, are specific to each platform. This means players can only group up with others on the same platform by chance.

Unfortunately, this implies that players using different platforms cannot team up in the same game. This limitation may disappoint console players who were looking forward to playing with their PC pals. At present, Sharkmob, the developer, has not confirmed the addition of cross-platform squad play in the future.

Nevertheless, players on different platforms have some hope, as the developer has recognized the crossplay issue. In response to a tweet asking about a bug fix, the developer acknowledged awareness of the crossplay problem and mentioned ongoing discussions about it. While they have numerous improvements and new content to prioritize due to being a small team, they have expressed consideration for cross-platform play.

It’s essential to understand that while the developer’s response indicates awareness and consideration of the crossplay matter, it doesn’t guarantee the implementation of cross-platform play in Bloodhunt. Nonetheless, it’s comforting for players eager to play with friends on different platforms to know that developers are actively exploring potential solutions for the future.

Using Crossplay in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt

If you’re playing Bloodhunt on PC, crossplay is automatically enabled and cannot be disabled. This means that every game you join will include players from both PC and PlayStation 5. On the other hand, players on the PlayStation 5 version can choose to disable crossplay to comply with technical regulations.

To enable or disable crossplay in Bloodhunt, you can navigate to the Options Menu and adjust the setting based on your preference. However, the developers advise against altering the crossplay settings, warning that disabling crossplay may lead to longer matchmaking times. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to play with crossplay enabled.
